Presentation:   This topic introduces the CIPR WG & FBI’s InfraGard’s EMP SIG. Potential impacts to the US will be discussed from “Triple Threats” or 3 catastrophic events that could be caused by disruptions to US Critical Infrastructure systems. These failures can be caused by Solar Eruptions (Geomagnetic Disturbances- GMD), High Altitude EMP and Cyber-attacks. CIPR domains include: Power and Energy, Communications, Transportation, Water, Financial and more for a total of 16. The EMP SIG addresses the Triple Threat events. An overview will be provided for InfraGard and the EMP SIG. National and local Maryland activities & needs for Systems Engineering support will be discussed.
