The Chesapeake Chapter recognizes Donald M. York, PhD, PE, CSEP, as its Systems Engineer of the Year for 2010. Dr. York is recognized as a leader of systems engineering teams by his DoD customer and the engineering community. He is a Member of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Systems Engineering Advisory Board functioning as an advisor on SE curriculum and programs. He has made presentations to the local Chesapeake Chapter as well as other systems engineering venues such as the annual INCOSE International Symposium. He has contributed to the INCOSE systems engineering body of knowledge. He served as the Chesapeake Chapter Program Director in 2008-2010 responsible for locating speakers and facilitating their presentations at the monthly Chesapeake Chapter meetings; as well as other program activities such as tutorials and the annual holiday dinner.
Dr. York exemplifies the model for the Systems Engineer of the Year. He practices systems engineering for the betterment of our nation and shares his knowledge and experience in the greater community and with INCOSE and the Chesapeake Chapter.
