The Chesapeake Chapter recognizes Ms. Carol Ann Hutchinson as the Systems Engineer of the Year for 2008. Ms. Hutchinson is recognized as a Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert by her DoD customer and the engineering community. Ms. Hutchinson has served as the Chief Systems Engineer and Architect on several DoD Projects. While she was a Northrop Grumman (TASC) employee she drafted and coordinated divisional technical documentation including system manuals, installation manuals, user guides, drawings, training documentation, and test plans, procedures, and reports. She has Drafted Requests For Comment (RFCs) for the Cryptologic Common Data Model (CCDM) report model updates and changes. Also while with TASC, she implemented a web-based system that documents division systems engineering processes and procedures, and she trained the entire staff in the execution of both the division processes and the tools that support the processes.
As the President of the Chesapeake Chapter, Ms. Hutchinson led a successful initiative to create a Past President (PP) pin for the INCOSE organization. She designed the pin and championed its production by INCOSE central Member Board. She organized the Chesapeake Chapter’s Past President’s club and distributed PP pins to all Chesapeake Chapter Past Presidents. Ms. Hutchinson is an active, contributing member of the Chesapeake Chapter of INCOSE and a Past Chesapeake Chapter President (2006).
