Dr. Sam Seymour is the recipient of the Chesapeake Chapter’s Carol Hutchinson Systems Engineer of the Year award for 2013. Dr. Seymour is the Chief of Staff of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where he is responsible for coordinating business development and systems engineering. Dr. Seymour is also the Vice Chair of the Systems Engineering Program at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering where for nearly 30 years he has been an instructor for over 4000 graduate students in systems engineering, program management and advanced technology. Dr. Seymour is the author of a book on Systems Engineering and is on the Editorial Board of the INCOSE Systems Engineering Journal and the DoD Systems Engineering Research Center SEBOK and Graduate Reference Curriculum. Dr. Seymour exemplifies the model for the Systems Engineer of the Year. He is a recognized expert and advocate of Systems Engineering, a long standing leading educator in the field, and a strong supporter of INCOSE. Congratulations, Dr. Seymour!
