2023-03-15: Engineering a Better Tomorrow: SE Vision 2035 and Beyond (Long)

Date: Wednesday, March 15, 2023

David Long, an INCOSE Fellow, Expert Systems Engineering Professional, 2014/2015 president of INCOSE, and president of Blue Holon, Inc., presented a compelling lecture on the future of Systems Engineering. He explained how today, we face an ever-shifting landscape and operate across various sizes, costs, and product lifespans. As technologies advance and complexity grows, yesterday’s approaches will fall short of what we require. How must we adapt and transform if we move beyond 20th-century engineering? Drawing from Systems Engineering Vision 2035 and insights from worldwide, David discussed how systems engineering must evolve to engineer a better tomorrow.

Speaker: David Long, ESEP, and president of Blue Holon, Inc

This lecture was inspired by INCOSE’s Systems Engineering Vision 2035, which is intended to inspire and guide the strategic direction of systems engineering for the global systems community. This community includes leaders of organizations, practitioners, and students, and others serving this community that includes educators, researchers, professional organizations, standards bodies, and tool vendors.
