The INCOSE Southern Maryland (SoMD) Chapter is asking for Volunteers for the upcoming 2020 AUVSI SUAS Competition . Please let Cheryl Kinchen, CSEP, know if you could help out as
An INCOSE volunteer to serve dinner (buffet style) or assist with team registration on Thursday evening, June 17th.
Or if you are available as Judge, there are three (3) events. If you believe you might be available to Judge for 1 or all 3 of the following:
Technical Paper (using engineering template guidelines), Judging can be done online (April timeframe, starts after the 15th, last year I reviewed 6 papers)
Flight readiness review (YOUTUBE videos), Judging can be done online (May timeframe, starts after the 15th, last year I reviewed 5 videos)
The mission demonstrations at Webster Field, Judging is on site. This event will be held June 18, 19 and 20th with an Award Banquet Saturday night (20th). Judges get free meals provided and tickets (1 guest) to the Awards Banquet
The 2019 AUVSI SUAS Competition had a total of $50,250 awarded to teams and the 2018 Competition had a total of $70,700 awarded to teams. The competition has grown steadily since inception in 2002. Based on a linear regression of the last 5 years, we have 75 teams in 2020 and expect 83 teams in 2021.
